Foundation awards scholarships

The Bridge Educational Foundation recently awarded scholarships that were funded by businesses through Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. The funds will allow income-qualified families a financial boost to choose the schools that best fit their needs. The Bridge Educational Foundation has provided scholarships to 36,000 students in 61 of Pennsylvania's 67 counties attending more than 700 schools.

In attendance at the presentation were Rep. Tom Jones; Sens. Ryan Aument and Scott Martin; Francis Miliano, office of Rep. Michael Sturla; Drew Lyons from Malady & Wooten; Brian Bradley and Jay Wenger, RBC Capital Markets; Paul Bermillio and Brian Fuhrman, Waste Management; Melissa Martinez and Chris Shaak, S. June Smith Center; Joe Sahd, Lancaster Catholic High School; Sister Therese Elizabeth Bauer and students from Sacred Heart of Jesus School; April Miller, Mount Calvary Christian School; and Janice Greenleaf, Kraybill Mennonite School.
