Free produce available to seniors

Eligible Chester County seniors may apply to receive coupons for free locally grown fruits and vegetables through the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.

Each senior in the program will receive five small checks that can be used to purchase fresh Pennsylvania-grown fruits and vegetables at approved farmers markets. Checks must be redeemed between Sunday, June 1, and Sunday, Nov. 30. 

To qualify, seniors must be age 60 or older by Wednesday, Dec. 31, and meet household income eligibility requirements. Total income for a one-person household cannot exceed $28,953, and total income for a two-person household cannot exceed $39,128.
