Friends To Accept Donations For Book Sale

The Friends of the Manheim Community Library will accept donations of items to be sold during the annual spring book sale. Special book donation drop-off events have been scheduled, and donations will not be accepted inside the library.

Donations will be accepted in the parking lot behind the library on Thursday, March 18, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to noon; and Thursday, April 8, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Volunteers will be stationed in the parking lot to help donors to unload their car. Community members may also donate items at the Manheim Farm Show Exhibition Hall on Adele Avenue on Saturday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to noon and Monday, May 3, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Donations should be items that are in good condition. Items that can be accepted include children's or teen books; hardcover fiction or nonfiction; DVDs; mass market paperbacks in like-new condition with a copyright date of 1980 or later; trade (large) paperbacks; and travel books that were copyrighted in the past five years. No textbooks, encyclopedias, pamphlets, or Reader's Digest condensed versions will be accepted.

The book sale will take place at the Manheim Farm Show Exhibition Hall on Thursday to Saturday, May 6 to 8, with a Friends preview night on Wednesday, May 5.
