A fundraiser to benefit Blessings of Hope and welcome the organization to the Elizabethtown community will take place on Saturday, March 18. The event will be held at Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church, 996 E. High St., Elizabethtown, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Almost 100 items will be up for bids in a silent auction, including many baskets from local businesses, gift cards, an autographed Rhys Hoskins baseball hat, and theme baskets. The event will also include a bake sale and a soup sale. Preorders are required for the soup at https://tinyurl.com/bohsoupsale.

Blessings of Hope will use the proceeds to help it convert the old Darrenkamp's grocery store into a facility that will be used to save food from being wasted by dehydrating it to preserve it longer. This food will then go back into the community or be shipped where it is needed most.
