Garden Spot Village posts schedule

Garden Spot Village (GSV), 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, has planned events.

Cooperative Living and Giving Day will be Friday, Nov. 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees may learn more about giving and volunteer opportunities for the second cooperative living project. A community Thanksgiving service will take place on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m. The event will include music by the GSV musical groups, along with Thanksgiving hymns and Scripture readings. Chaplain Dick O'Hara from Frederick Living will provide a Thanksgiving message.

The GSV Train Room will host open houses from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays from Nov. 30 to Dec. 28. Visitors of all ages are invited to participate in this holiday tradition. The HO-gauge train layout includes Thomasville and the "Talk with Thomas" event, while the O-gauge layout features an elevated track. Both layouts provide detailed scenery. This event is free and open to the public, but donations are welcome.

The Artisans Corner, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, will host a First Friday Artisan Pop-Up on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon. Resident artist Junior Zook will display and demonstrate how he makes wooden dulcimers. Attendees may also browse and purchase handcrafted items.

A variety of Christmas-themed musical programs will be held in December at GSV.

Servant Stage will perform the revue show "Christmas Crooners" on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29 and 30, at 7 p.m. Admission is pay-what-you-will.

GSV will host Ephrata Christian Fellowship on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 2:30 p.m. The group, made up of 30 singers, will perform a cappella.

The Lancaster Meistersingers will perform sacred and classical selections on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. The ensemble is a local group comprising Mennonite adults and youths. A freewill offering will be received to benefit Helping Hands and Hearts Ministry.

GSV's music ensembles will present concerts on Friday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. The brass ensemble, handbell choir, and Village Voices will perform. The event is free and open to the public.

Vivace Strings, Chimes and Voices will perform on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

Another concert on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m. will feature the Lancaster-based trio Perfect Harmony. GSV hosts a Saturday evening concert on the third Saturday evening of each month from September through April.
