Garden Spot Village sets events

Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, has posted three events. They are free and open to the public.

The New Holland Area Historical Society will present a program, "The Nation's Guest," on Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Benton Webber, a local historian and member of the Manheim Township Historical Society, will present on Marquis de Lafayette's time in Lancaster County and the bicentennial of Lafayette's farewell tour.

The Garden Spot Village Train Room will host an open house on Saturday, March 29, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The HO-gauge train layout includes Thomasville and the "Talk With Thomas" feature, while the O-gauge layout includes an elevated track. Both layouts feature detailed scenery. Although admission is free, donations are welcome.

Garden Spot Communities Principal Foundation research scientist Gloria Mast will speak on "Eastern Lancaster County: History, Culture, Faith" on Monday, March 31, at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Mast will share her doctoral research regarding the history, culture, and faith of the eastern Lancaster County area, focusing on how these dynamics shaped the formation of Garden Spot Village.
