GEARS' four-person scramble golf tournament, sponsored by R.E. Pierson Materials Corporation, will take place on Friday, April 25, at the Dauphin Highlands Golf Course, 650 S. Harrisburg St., Harrisburg. The tournament will have a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The fee includes green fees, use of a cart, lunch, and awards. Proceeds from the event will benefit GEARS and its Summer Playground Program.

Len Bodnar from Bodnar Financial Group will lead a Social Security Workshop on Wednesday, April 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. Topics will include understanding benefit choices, when to start benefits, factoring in Medicare, reducing or eliminating taxation of Social Security, and strategies to help optimize retirement benefits and create an income base. There is no fee, but preregistration is required.

The Elizabethtown College men's basketball team will host a clinic on Wednesday, April 16, which is an early dismissal day for Bear Creek School, 1459 Sheaffer Road, Elizabethtown. The program will take place from 12:45 to 2:45 p.m. at Bear Creek School. Girls and boys in grades three through five may stay after school and learn basketball skills. The clinic will include shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, defense, rebounding, athleticism, and more.
