GEARS posts activities

GEARS will offer activities to the community. Unless otherwise noted, there is a per-person cost, with a discounted rate for residents. To register or for more information, visit http://www.getintogears.org or call 717-367-0355.

Bowling Camp will be offered for children ages 8 to 12 from Monday through Thursday, July 22 to 25, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at Clearview Lanes, 1990 W. Main St., Mount Joy. Lessons will include arm swing, a four-step approach, targeting, and spare making. Clearview Lanes staff members will instruct.

CSI E-town Forensics Camp will be offered to children ages 9 to 14 on Monday to Thursday, June 17 to 20. The class will run from 2 to 4 p.m. in Room 2605 at Elizabethtown Area High School (EAHS), 600 E. High St., Elizabethtown. Each day, participants will learn a real forensic technique and then use it to solve a crime. Chemistry teacher Scott Baylor will instruct.

Current or aspiring high school tennis players ages 13 to 17 may participate in Teen Tennis Camp from Monday through Thursday, June 24 to 27, or Monday to Thursday, July 15 to 18, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the EAHS tennis courts. Players will develop and improve skills through conditioning, stroke development, and strategy. The camp will be instructed by EAHS varsity tennis coach Brenda McBride.

Vinyasa Yoga will offered on Thursdays from June 20 to Aug. 29 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Masonic Village Carpenter Chapel, 1244 Bainbridge Road, Elizabethtown. No class will be held on July 4, July 18, or Aug. 8. The class is suitable for both beginners and advanced yoga students age 18 and up.
