GEARS will offer indoor tennis lessons for youths ages 3 to 11. All classes will meet at the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown.

Iddy Biddy Tennis will be offered for children ages 3 to 6. Participants will learn agility, balance and coordination using the larger red balls and smaller nets and courts. Session I classes will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from Nov. 6 to 15, Session II classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from Dec. 4 to 13, and Session III students will meet on Sundays from Nov. 12 to Dec. 10, with no class on Nov. 26. Session I and II time slots will be 9:30 to 10 a.m. (A) and 10 to 10:30 a.m. (B). Session III classes will meet from 4 to 4:30 p.m.

Beginner Tennis, for those ages 6 to 11, will teach children of any skill level the fundamentals of tennis using the orange balls and smaller rackets, nets, and courts. Through the use of games and drills, players will learn the proper technique for forehand, backhand, serve, and volley. The classes will be offered on Sundays from Nov. 12 to Dec. 10, with no class on Nov. 26. Class times are 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. for people ages 6 to 8 (A) and 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. for those ages 9 to 11 (B).

GEARS will accept registration for girls and boys in grades one through nine for the BEARS Youth Basketball Program. Players will participate in practices and games from late November through the end of January. Participation levels are grades one and two (instructional), grades three and four, grades five and six and grades seven through nine.

Draft day for boys in grades three and four will be Monday, Nov. 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. Draft day for boys in grades five and six will be Nov. 6 from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. Draft day for girls in grades three and four and five and six will be Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 7 p.m. All drafts will be held in the gym at the Bear Creek School, 1459 Sheaffer Road, Elizabethtown.

The program for boys and girls in grades one and two will take place on Saturdays only at East High Street Elementary, 800 E. High St., Elizabethtown. Boys and girls in grades three and four will practice one day per week and play games on Saturdays. Those in grades five through nine will practice two days per week and play games on Saturdays. Registration fees have been set by age group.

A "December with du Ponts" trip will be held on Friday, Dec. 8. Participants will depart at 7:30 a.m. from Clearview Bowling Lanes, 1990 W. Main St., Mount Joy. The trip will begin with a visit to Winterthur for Yuletide tours, including a garden tram ride and self-guided exhibition galleries, followed by a Yuletide buffet. After your meal, the group will travel to Longwood Gardens to view more than 400,000 lights and other attractions.
