GEARS sets fitness classes and more

GEARS will offer activities to the community. Unless otherwise noted, there is a per-person cost, with a discounted rate for residents. To register or for more information, visit http://www.getintogears.org or call 717-367-0355.

Pound will take place on Fridays, March 15 to May 10, from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. at the Fighting Dragons, 101 Cherry St., Elizabethtown. Participants will use Ripstix, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercise. Attendees should bring a yoga mat. This activity is for people age 14 and up.

Spin & Sculpt, which features indoor cycling and strength training, will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 19 to May 16, from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. (Class A) or 7 to 8 p.m. (Class B) at Community Place on Washington, 105 E. Washington St., Elizabethtown. Attendees should bring their own dumbbells. People age 18 and up of all fitness levels are welcome.

Vinyasa Yoga will be offered on Thursdays, March 21 to May 23, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Masonic Village Carpenter Chapel, 1244 Bainbridge Road, Elizabethtown. This class is for beginners and advanced yoga students age 18 and up.

M&T Bank will present a workshop about mortgages on Wednesday, March 20, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. Topics will include common types of mortgages and how they are obtained, common costs associated with mortgages and financing products and resources to assist with buying a home. The workshop is for people age 18 and up. There is no charge, but preregistration is required.

PJ Story Hour will offer stories, a craft and a snack for children ages 4 to 10 in the cabins at the Winters Heritage House, 47 E. High St., Elizabethtown. On Friday, Feb. 23, the theme will be "Bears," and on Friday, March 22, the theme will be "Springtime." Attendees may come dressed in their pajamas.
