GEARS Slates Activities

Thinking of Selling Your Home will be held on Wednesday, March 1, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. Attendees will get some tips and tricks on how to start the process from a real estate agent, a home stager, and a home inspector. The class is open to adults age 18 and older.

Pickleball lessons will be available for adults age 18 and over in the gym at Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church, 996 E. High St., Elizabethtown. Classes will be offered for beginners from noon to 1 p.m. and for beginner and intermediate players from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 7 to 21. Lessons will cover basic techniques, rules, and strategies. All equipment will be provided.

The Bob Schlosser Skills Clinic will be offered to girls and boys in grades three to five. The clinic will run from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 14 to April 18, in the gym at Bear Creek Elementary, 1459 Sheaffer Road, Elizabethtown. Ball handling, shooting fundamentals, and moving without the ball offensive and defensive footwork will be stressed.

An AARP Driver Safety Refresher Program will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday, March 13, at the East Donegal Township Municipal Building, 190 Rock Point Road, Marietta. The course is for drivers age 50 and older who have previously completed the eight-hour 55 Alive course. All participants must bring proof of previous course completion to receive a certificate; they must also bring a valid Pennsylvania driver's license. The course will fulfill the requirements for a continuing insurance discount from any auto insurer doing business in Pennsylvania. There is a discount for AARP members.
