Friends of Donegal will offer a 16-week "Getting Ahead" class at Florin Church of the Brethren, 815 Bruce Ave., Mount Joy. The classes will be offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from Jan. 14 to May 13 or Saturdays from Aug. 15 to Dec. 19.

The class will allow participants to examine their life and community, build their stability and resources, learn how poverty impacts them and their community, rewrite their future story by creating a plan based on their goals, and participate in problem-solving discussions.
