Glossbrenner Church will host free Family Fall Festival

For the members of Glossbrenner Church, what happens outside the sanctuary is just as important as what happens inside. With that in mind, the church will hold a Family Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 5. The drop-in event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, 713 Church St., Mount Joy. It will be held in the upper parking lot on the corner of Water and Angle streets, unless the weather is inclement, in which case it will be held in the church fellowship hall.

Jessica Rockey, children and youth director for the church, explained that that festival will offer fun for people of all ages.

"We'll have games with prizes for all ages, crafts, decorate a pumpkin, a family photo, free food and make-your-own s'mores," she shared. "And of course, we'll have a bounce house."

This is the third year the church has held the fall festival, which is an opportunity for members of the congregation to connect with the wider community, Rockey said.

"We want to make an impact on our community, get to personally know the people in our area," she commented. "We want to give back and let everyone know they are welcome to take part in the fun and fellowship here at Glossbrenner."

The church holds worship services on Sundays at 10 a.m., alternating between contemporary and traditional services. "We always have something for the children, and we have Sunday school for all ages, including adult groups, from 11:15 a.m. to noon," Rockey said.

She hopes the community will come out for the Family Fall Festival to enjoy time together and get to meet new friends.

"Come out and make memories with your family as a gift from us to you," she said. "We know times are tough, and it can be hard to find affordable ways to make memories outside of the house, so let us provide for you a free fun fall festival that all ages are sure to enjoy."
