Good Friday Service To Occur At Park

The Warwick Ministerium will hold its community Good Friday service in the Lititz Springs Park, located on Broad Street, for the first time on Friday, April 2, at 12:15 p.m. Over the past couple of decades, the Warwick Ministerium held the Good Friday service at either the Lititz Church of the Brethren or St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Because of precautions due to COVID-19, the committee decided to hold the event outdoors this year. Lititz Springs Park was chosen because it is owned and maintained by the churches.

During the service, pastor Jerry McGrath, president of the Warwick Ministerium, will welcome attendees. Three pastors will speak, with each portraying a different perspective. Jim Haun will offer the perspective of the centurion, the John Knudson will offer the perspective of the followers of Jesus, and Eric Landrum will represent the crowd. Closing remarks will be offered by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Miller. A large cross will be carried into the service, and attendees will be invited to touch it before they leave. Music will be provided by a quartet consisting of Warwick High School students, and those gathered will be led in singing a well-known hymn.

The ministerium is represented by about 20 local churches whose pastors gather each month to pray for the community and support each other.
