Good News Club Semester Starts

The spring semester of the Good News Club began on Feb. 22. Additional sessions will be held from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. on Mondays, March 1 to 29, and Monday, April 12. The program will be held in the fellowship hall of Faith Church, 2124 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, instead of Smoketown Elementary School since after-school activities are not being held at the school. The program is for children in second through sixth grades.

This semester, the club's theme is "God's Love: Hope for the Outcast." Meetings include Scripture memory activities, Bible lessons, missionary stories, songs, games, and snacks. The last meeting will emphasize the Easter story. Attendance is free, and parents are encouraged to visit the club meetings.

The program is sponsored by Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) of Lancaster County The volunteers who run the program have obtained their Pennsylvania child protection clearances and have completed specialized training through CEF. The club will follow CDC guidelines requiring everyone to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Registration forms are available in the lobby of Smoketown Elementary School, 2426 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster; Fritz Elementary School, 845 Hornig Road, Lancaster; Sheetz, 2425 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster; and the Faith Church office. Forms should be returned to one of the school locations or the church office.
