Girls on the Run (GOTR) of Lancaster & Lebanon will host its Spring 5K Celebration, presented by Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster, on Saturday, May 20. Almost 5,000 people are expected to attend this culminating event, which will celebrate 1,100 girls from Lancaster and Lebanon counties who completed one of GOTR's spring programs. The event will take place at Franklin & Marshall College on the track at the intersection of Harrisburg and College avenues.

This noncompetitive 5K is one of the largest in the area and honors all finishers regardless of placement. It marks the conclusion of a 10-week season during which the girls build confidence and learn life skills, along with caring for their physical and emotional health.

The 5K Celebration is open to the public. Online registration will close on Wednesday, May 17, at 11:59 p.m. Walk-up registration will be available in person on the morning of the race. For more details, visit http://www.gotrlancaster.org/5k.

Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster has sponsored the GOTR 5K Celebration spring and fall events for over 11 years, providing significant financial support along with trained medical staff and volunteers to help the event run smoothly and to ensure the girls have a safe and joyful experience. Organizers noted that 59% of girls this season needed financial assistance.

GOTR offers evidence-based programs that inspire all girls to build their confidence, kindness, and decision-making skills. The lessons instill life skills, including the important connection between physical and emotional health.
