GR Mitchell Donates Paint, Supplies To Solanco

GR Mitchell will refresh the learning environments for two Solanco Middle Schools thanks to a grant provided by the True Value Foundation's Painting a Brighter Future program. The grant is designed to help improve learning spaces, which can have an impact on youth attitudes and performance. More than 2,300 schools and youth development organizations across the country have been awarded paint since the program's inception in 2009, covering more than 25 million square feet of learning space.

GR Mitchell representatives put in an application for Solanco School District's Swift Middle School and George A. Smith Middle School. Shortly after, they received notice that both schools were approved. The schools were each invited to select 20 gallons of paint plus supplies, worth more than $1,200.

First, the students are painting a mural in their hallways to encourage the arts. Second, the schools have planned to revitalize shared spaces such as the weight room and computer labs. They are aiming for abstract art to further extend the inventive interest of the learners.

EasyCare Ultra-Premium Acrylic Latex paint has earned the asthma and allergy friendly certification mark, which is a designation that helps identify products more suitable for people with asthma and allergies.

In recent years, GR Mitchell has also connected Martin Meylin Middle School and the SECA Center with the True Value Foundation's Painting a Brighter Future program.

Any local schools that would be interested in applying for next year's grant should contact info@grmitchell.com to learn more.
