Grief seminar planned at Fairmount

Fairmount Homes in Ephrata will offer a grief seminar, "Help for Handling the Holidays," on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 1:30 p.m. in the Wheat Ridge Gathering Room, located at 2100 Farm Crest Drive on the west side of the Fairmount campus. The seminar is free and open to the public. It is for anyone who has experienced any kind of loss, including the death of a family member, friend, or pet; a move; or the transition to being an empty nester.

The seminar will be facilitated by the Rev. Stephen Austin and Fairmount chaplain Eugene Weaver.

Austin is an ordained Presbyterian minister who has served churches in Utah, Nebraska, California, and Georgia, and has completed extensive training as a chaplain. For 30 years, he directed spiritual care departments in a large hospital system in Atlanta before moving to Pennsylvania five years ago and working as a hospice chaplain with Amedisys Hospice.

Weaver spent many years as a missionary before moving to Pennsylvania and serving as a pastor. He has been Fairmount's chaplain for the past four years.

No registration is required. Directions to Fairmount are available at http://www.FairmountHomes.org.
