GSFR Announces Leadership

During the board of directors' Jan. 4 meeting, the 2023 leadership was inducted to lead Garden Spot Fire Rescue (GSFR). Operational and administrative leaders were selected.

The fire chief is Darryl Keiser, and the deputy chief is Stefan Kuenzli. At 39-1, Mike Fryer is the assistant chief and Dan Zink is the lieutenant, with the captain position vacant. Leaders at 39-2 include Assistant Chief Brendon Harnish, Capt. Wes Kopp and Lt. Tucker Brown. At 39-3, leaders include Assistant Chief Dave King, Capt. Cody Straub and Lt. Trevor Martin. Others are Lt. Brian Zimmerman at 39-4, Lt. Daryl Hoover at 39-6 and Sgt. Merv King at 39-2.

Mitch Buzzard is the water rescue captain, and David L. Groff is the department EMS sergeant. In the fire police, Steve Witmer is captain, with Lt. John Fischer and Sgt. Paul Lang at 39-1 and Lt. Bob Truitt and Sgt. Randy Baxter at 39-2.

The leadership team also includes president Tom Curtis, vice president Matt Boley, secretary Erin Talley, treasurer Melissa Sarnocinski, assistant treasurer Becky Hartranft, property committee chair Vinny Tennis, member-at-large Wes Weaver, community representative Glenn Karker and Auxiliary chair Anita Witmer. Nick Good is the director of administration and the public information officer.
