The Hempfield Area Democratic Committee (HADC) invites students who live in the Hempfield School District to apply for a $500 scholarship. The award will be given to a graduating senior who will pursue a postsecondary education. Applicants can be students at any Lancaster County high school, but must be a resident in the Hempfield School District.

The scholarship will be awarded based on a student's application, a short essay, and a brief interview. The scholarship is named for Paul and Jan Wright, residents of East Hempfield Township and longtime active members of the HADC.
