Haldeman Mansion to be site of Victorian Tea

The historic Haldeman Mansion, 230 Locust Grove Road, Bainbridge, will be the setting for a Victorian Tea on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 4 p.m. Included in the fare will be a seasonal salad, choice of soup, several sandwiches, homemade scones with lemon curd and jellies, petit fours and an assortment of hot and cold teas.

All proceeds will benefit the continuing restoration of the grand stone house. The main staircase and formal entrance room have recently been completely restored. The great room is in the final stages of restoration. Its twin fireplaces adorned with King of Prussia marble will serve as the backdrop for the tea.

The tea is just one of the annual fundraising events open to the public. The Strawberry Festival in June and the Fall Fest held every October are two of the other fundraising events. The mansion also holds nature and history classes for homeschooled students every Wednesday in September, October, April and May. The mansion is also part of Lancaster County's ExtraGive fundraising event held in November.

Coming in April 2024, the Riverview Cafe will hold its grand opening on the grounds of the mansion.

Reservations are required for the tea. The reservation deadline is Thursday, Sept. 28. Call Tina Mark at 717-449-2474 for reservations and more information on any of the events.

The mansion is also available to rent for weddings, reunions and various private parties.
