"Healthier You" Series Planned

Jewish Family Service of Lancaster and Congregation Shaarai Shomayim's Adult Jewish Growth Committee will present a three-part "A Healthier You" virtual series in March. The information series will be presented from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, March 8 to 22.

The three events, in order of presentation, are "Anxiety and Coping Skills," Current Trends in Oncology: What We Do and Do Not Know," and "Judaism, Nursing, and the Military." To access the individual events, readers may contact the Shaarai Shomayim office at 717-397-5575.

"Anxiety and Coping Skills" will cover ideas and skills people may incorporate into their daily lives to help them manage stress and anxiety. Participants will learn how they can identify their negative thoughts and replace them with realistic thoughts through a model called cognitive behavioral therapy.

"Current Trends in Oncology: What We Do and Do Not Know" will discuss various forms of cancer detection and current trends in lung cancer in women. The final presentation will discuss the connections between Judaism, nursing, and the military.
