The Hempfield Foundation holds this annual event to support its teacher grant and scholarship programs. Most of the monies raised go toward funding grants to help Hempfield staff members in all grade levels in all school buildings.

For the 2022-23 school year, the foundation funded 48 grants totaling nearly $100,000. The following projects were awarded funding: the creation of the Landisville Education Center Social Skills Club Pilot Program to promote peer-to-peer relationship-building, improve social skills and encourage positive engagement with teachers; the purchase of heart rate monitors for middle school students to allow them to connect class content with immediate information about their pulse; the creation of a podcast production studio in the high school library; the purchase of surface temperature sensors and no-touch forehead thermometers to help high school science students better understand key roles played by nurses in hospitals and nursing homes; the purchase of a ceramics wheel to enhance the arts curriculum and to teach elementary students about all forms of clay sculpture-making.

Also, bringing a hands-on exhibit provided by the Lancaster Science Factory to the district; purchasing the online program "Digital Breakout," which provides hundreds of online digital "escape" rooms for students to solve math, science, ELA and other problems; bringing the Mari Black Trio to the district for a residency to provide clinics for all students in the district who play stringed instruments; and creating a "Zen Zone" to help middle school students who receive emotional support services in special education.
