Herb Guild plans Plant and Seed Exchange

The Conestoga Herb Guild will hold its annual Plant and Seed Exchange on Wednesday, May 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Millersville VFW, 219 Walnut Hill Road, Millersville. This event is open to the public.

A presentation titled "Simple Plant Propagation" will be presented by Guild member Erica Runkles, who will share various methods and materials to start propagating plants. Methods shared will include seed starting and plant cuttings and divisions. Runkles has been a lifelong gardener who was inspired by her parents, an early stint at Green Leaf Greenhouse taking plant cuttings, and a deep love of playing in the soil with seeds and plants.

Additionally, Guild members will supply a variety of plants and saved seeds from their gardens to trade. If available, additional plants and seeds can be donated to share with other members and guests. Plants and seeds will be labeled with the plant name, the required growing conditions, and the donor's name.

Additionally, Brenda Walker will present information about the benefits and qualities of comfrey, which is the Herb of the Month.

Guests are welcome, but advance reservations are required, and there is a fee. To register, contact Susan Atkins at 717-725-7451 or atkinsateb@aol.com.
