Hiking Club Plans Activities

York Hiking Club has planned its activities. For additional details, visit http://www.yorkhikingclub.com or the club's Facebook page. Changes due to inclement weather will be available on Facebook or by contacting the hike leader. Hikers should wear appropriate attire, including hiking boots, and bring water, a lunch, and/or snacks.

AT trail maintenance will take place on Saturday, Sept. 25, and participants may meet at the parking lot for the Emigsville exit (Exit 24) on I-83 at 8 a.m. Those who do not wish to carpool should meet at the AT parking lot on Route 225 at approximately 9 a.m. The group will do lopper work, chainsaw work, weed trimming, and miscellaneous repairs. Anyone who plans to help is asked to contact Tom at tommorley@comcast.net, 717-825-6712 (cellphone) or 717-764-6822 (home phone) as soon as possible. Tom can also provide information on needed tools and materials.

A 5-mile loop hike around Rocky Ridge Park will take place on Sunday, Sept. 26. Trail running shoes or hiking boots are recommended. Hike leader Phyllis Morley will try to avoid steep climbs.
