A 3.5-mile hike will be held on Sunday, May 9, in the Hellam Hills. The route will mainly follow woodland roads, but involve some bushwhacking up a slope. The hike will follow Wildcat Run and go over Buzzards Roost. Participants should meet at the gated lot off Furnace Road near Chimney Rock Road in Hellam Township for a 9 a.m. departure. A hike of more than 8 miles on the Gettysburg Battlefield will be offered on Sunday, May 23. Participants will meet at the parking lot off Taneytown Road - the old museum parking lot across from the cemetery - for a 9 a.m. departure.
