Historical society to offer "Baron Gnome" collectible

The Manheim Historical Society will conduct a giveaway drawing for one of the 4.5-inch-tall Baron Gnome collectibles created exclusively for the Manheim Historical Society by Stiegel Glassworks 1976.

There is a fee per giveaway drawing ticket, with a discount for a pack of three tickets. Tickets will be sold until Sunday, Aug. 20, and the winning ticket will be drawn on Tuesday, Aug. 22; the winner will be contacted by phone.

Tickets are available by contacting Audrey Geib at ageib@ptd.net or 717-665-6417; contacting other historical society volunteers; visiting the Harry Shearer Heritage Center., 88 S. Grant St., on Mondays from 1 to 4 p.m.; or calling 717-665-7989 and leaving a name and phone number. Calls will be returned. Tickets will also be available at the historical society's upcoming events; visit http://www.manheimhistoricalsociety.org for more details.

Additionally, orders for Baron Gnome collectibles will be received until Saturday, Sept. 30. The collectible is available only through the historical society. To place an order, refer to the aforementioned contact information. Payment is due when the order is placed. The orders should be ready after Monday, Oct. 30, and buyers will need their receipt to pick up their order.

A Baron Gnome will be on display at the Manheim Railroad Station on Sundays, Aug. 20 and Sept. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. during the historical society's open house events and at the Harry Shearer Heritage Center on Mondays from 1 to 4 p.m.
