History Center Slates Gala

This year, the Hershey History Center's 25th annual Preservation Gala: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Hershey Fresh Market in Hershey Towne Square, 121 Towne Square Drive, Hershey. Beginning at 6 p.m., the evening will feature tastes and treats from the multitude of vendors that are a part of Hershey Fresh Market against the backdrop of the newly evolved space with sounds from regional and local bands. The event will focus on the dynamic change to two downtown buildings that have filled various roles over the years.

Chocolatetown's former abattoir and post office and the former extraction plant now have a new lease on life as the Hershey Fresh Market and Hidden Still Spirits. These properties, and the respective owners, are going green by aiming to reduce the footprint for the new building projects. The reuse and recycling of space once used for butchering and soapmaking now offers many tasty treats and beverages.

Highlights for gala guests will include special artifact displays; food, beverage, and dessert stations; behind-the-scenes tours; a silent auction highlighted by one-of-a-kind items; and a live auction. The annual Preservation Awards will be presented during the event.
