History lecture series to continue

The Susquehanna National Heritage Area will continue its Old Times Lecture Series. Lectures will take place at the Zimmerman Center for Heritage, 1706 Long Level Road, Wrightsville.

"Construction of Safe Harbor Dam" will be presented by Mark Arbogast, retired PPL land manager, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8. Built between 1930 and 1931, Safe Harbor Dam was the last of the four hydro-electric dams to be constructed on the Lower Susquehanna. Arbogast will share the story of the construction of the dam and the village that was built to house its employees.

"Murder at Accomac" will be presented by local historian Michael Maloney at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12. Maloney will share the details of the real-life story he uncovered for his book "Across the River: Murder at Accomac." More than recounting the murder and subsequent trial, the presentation will take attendees on a journey through the history of Accomac, Coyle's Ferry, and the town of Marietta. The program will be offered in person and virtually.

Preregistration is required, and there is a cost to attend. Space is limited. For tickets and details, visit https://susqnha.org/events or call 717-252-0229, ext. 101.
