Two local students received Military Legacy Scholarships from McDaniel College, Westminster, Md. Select freshmen and transfer students were awarded the scholarships, valued at up to $132,000, or $33,000 annually over four years, for each student. Military Legacy Scholarships are available to military veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their children.

The local recipients were Darrian Holloway of Annville and Pat Karpew of Palmyra. Holloway is a graduate of Annville-Cleona Secondary School. Karpew is a graduate of Palmyra Area High School.
