Hope's Haven Plans Open House

Hope's Haven Horse Rescue and Youth Camp, 114 Kissel Barrick Road, Bainbridge, will host an open house on Saturday, April 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. In the case of rain, the event will take place on Saturday, April 30. Hope's Haven is a faith-centered ministry, where rescued horses can connect with children dealing with conflicts in their lives. The horses and children receive encouragement and guidance from a mentor with the goal of experiencing healing, acceptance and restored hope.

Community members may stop by to meet the volunteer staff members and mentors, along with the program horses, which are former rescue horses. There will be opportunities to learn more about the program and volunteer opportunities in fundraising, mentoring, landscaping and IT support. Hope's Haven apparel and light refreshments will be available for purchase, and attendees may enter giveaway drawings for baskets. Since the formation of Hope's Haven in March 2018, more than 40 children and youths have been served and over 30 horses have been rescued or assisted out of a high-risk situation.
