Horn Farm Center Plans Programs

Wild Abundance: Late Summer Foraging Walk will be held on Sunday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon. Attendees will learn about local plant ecology, wild edibles, and alternative uses for plants. The program will emphasize ethical foraging and ways of giving back to the land. Beginners and experienced foragers are welcome.

Introduction to Nature Journaling will take place on Sept. 7 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Attendees will learn to record plants using a variety of mark making techniques, as well as discuss simple botanical terms and view other types of botanical journal structures. No drawing experience is necessary.

Pawpaw Preview: Exclusive Tour & Tasting will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. as part of Wild & Uncommon Weekend. Attendees will take a guided farm tour that explores pawpaws in both the farm's restored wild spaces and cultivated orchard and discover how pawpaws play a vital role in the local ecosystem, all while enjoying pawpaw-inspired cocktails. The event will conclude with a curated tasting featuring six to 10 varieties of pawpaws. People are encouraged to register early as space is very limited.
