In addition, Horn Farm Center is accepting applications for its Regenerative Grower Training Program, which will begin on Tuesday, May 20. The immersive, 22-week program is designed for home gardeners, aspiring small-scale farmers, and individuals who are passionate about sustainably-grown food. This hands-on program will run through October, offering participants an opportunity to deepen their agricultural knowledge while actively engaging in regenerative growing practices.

Meeting eight hours per week on Tuesdays and Fridays, students will gain practical, in-the-field experience growing a diverse array of food crops throughout the entire growing season. The course will focus on low-tech, human-scale, and chemical-free methods. While annual vegetables are the primary emphasis, participants will also gain experience with perennial crops that reflect the Horn Farm's growing focus on agroforestry. Through a combination of classroom modules and field experience, students will learn about small-scale ecological design of crop systems, soil health, water management, plant propagation, botany, tending, and more.

No prior experience is required. Each student will harvest and take home a weekly box of fresh produce grown in the program.

Enrollment is limited to six students to ensure personalized instruction and mentorship. To learn more and apply, visit http://www.hornfarmcenter.org/regenerative-grower-training or call the aforementioned number.
