Elderberry: From Harvest to Syrup will be held on Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees will learn about the American elderberry plant, including its ecology, history, identification, and harvest and the ways people may incorporate the plant into their lives. Activities will take place rain or shine in the field and the summer kitchen. Attendees will experience through the process of making elderberry syrup from start to finish, and all participants will leave with a small jar of finished syrup. Participants should bring a drawing pad and pencil for sketching and notes, and they should dress for the weather. Beginners and experienced foragers are welcome.

Wild Abundance: Mid-Summer Foraging Walk will be held on Sunday, Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. Topics may include local plant ecology, wild edibles, and alternative uses for plants through wildcrafting and medicine, and ethical foraging and ways of giving back to the land. The program will include storytelling. Beginners and experienced foragers are welcome.

Crafting Fruit Vinegars will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Participants will learn how to transform leftover fruit scraps into vinegars. The instructor will guide participants through the process, from how to make vinegar to fruit selection to the materials needed. The instructor will also share tips on how to use the vinegars in daily meal preparation. Attendees will take home their own custom-made fruit vinegars.
