Hunger Run/Walk raises funds for food pantry

Through the support of sponsors, donors, volunteers and 366 participants, this year's Hummelstown Hunger Run/Walk raised more than $31,000 for the Hummelstown Food Pantry. The food pantry also received two truck beds full of nonperishable food items donated by the participants and volunteers, along with water and snacks from event day.

The seventh annual Hummelstown Hunger Run/Walk, held on May 13 in Schaffner Park, featured a 5K run and walk, as well as a 5-mile run.

The first-place men's winner of the 5K was Josh Sadlock, who broke the 5K course record, with a time of 15 minutes, 30 seconds. The first-place female 5K winner was Sarah Klag, with a time of 21:39.

The first-place male winner of the 5-mile run was Daniel Brosius, with a time of 29:59. The first-place 5-mile female winner was Chas Lynn Meloy, with a time of 37:40.
