It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas In The Village

The 23rd annual village open house will be held in the village of Intercourse on Friday Dec. 3, and Saturday Dec. 4. According to Mike Sensenig of Kitchen Kettle Village, "the vision for the event was to provide engagement between the area businesses and the community and to thank the community for all the support they give to the businesses during the busy tourist season."

In the past, a highlight of the community celebration was the events held at the Pequea Valley Public Library (PVPL). Although the PVPL events will not take place this year, the library has plans to bring back those activities in 2022.

On Dec. 3, Brave Sounds, the Pequea Valley Intermediate School choir, will perform in Kitchen Kettle Village from 6 to 7:30 p.m. From 4 to 7 p.m., there will be a Holiday Tasting Tour. There is a cost to take the tour, and reservations are necessary. From 5 to 7 p.m., Santa will be in the Harvest Cafe for photos. S'more making will be available for a fee, and complimentary hot chocolate will be served. A live Nativity program will be held at 5:30, 6, and 6:30 p.m.

On Dec. 4, Kitchen Kettle will hold Holiday Fun with Santa and Friends, from 9 to 10 a.m. There is a cost to take part, and reservations are necessary. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Santa will be in the Jam & Relish Kitchen for photos. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., s'more-making kits may be purchased at MOMS Pretzel Shop. Candy-making demonstrations will be held at Pepper Lane Fudge & Sweets throughout the day.

Live music performed at Kitchen Kettle Village on Dec. 4 will feature Dave Wilson Holiday Brass band from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Nick DiSanto, the One-Man Band, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Ron's Mutts Holiday Handbell Ringers from 1 to 3 p.m. What the Dickens, musicians in holiday costumes, will stroll around the village of Intercourse from 10 a.m. to noon.

Kings Homestead, 3518 W. Newport Road, Ronks, will also hold an open house on Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lattes and snacks will be provided, and pork barbecue nachos and chicken noodle soup will be available.

These are just a few of the many specials and events that will be featured in the village of Intercourse on Dec. 3 and 5. For more information, readers may visit http://www.villageofintercourse.com/events.
