The Derry Township board of supervisors voted unanimously to promote Zachary Jackson to director of parks and recreation. Jackson has served as assistant director of parks and recreation since 2009. Prior to joining the staff at Derry Township, he was the program/facility manager for Lower Paxton Township for two years.

Jackson holds a bachelor's degree in sports management and a master's degree in business administration from West Virginia University. A native of Hummelstown, Jackson lives in East Hanover Township with his family.
