Jazz concert to feature Disney songs

The Arts at Millersville University will present "When You Wish Upon a Star - A Jazz Tribute to 100 Years of Disney" on Friday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster.

Throughout the years, music legends such as Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, and Dianne Reeves have interpreted and recorded songs from Disney films such as "Snow White," "Lady and the Tramp," "Mary Poppins," and "The Jungle Book." The upcoming performance will celebrate the impact of jazz on 100 years of Disney magic with new twists on songs such as "Someday My Prince Will Come," "He's a Tramp," "Everybody Wants To Be a Cat," and "The Bare Necessities." Performed by the newly created house band of The National Jazz Museum in Harlem, the show will feature pianist and musical director Sean Mason and vocalists Georgia Heers and Sasha Dobson.
