KCL sets May programming

The spring story time schedule is drawing to a close, but SummerQuest 2023 will soon begin, offering free activities that will keep patrons of all ages learning, reading and physically active from June to August. Early online registration will begin on Sunday, May 14. SummerQuest registration packets will be available beginning on Thursday, June 1. Baby and Toddler Story Time for children from birth to age 2 will be held from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Wednesdays through May 3. Preschool Story Time for children ages 3 to 5 will run from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Fridays through May 5. Family Story Time with Miss Felicia at Chick-fil-A, 2801 E. Market St., York, will be held on Tuesday, May 2, from 9 to 10 a.m.

The Teen Leadership group will meet on May 2 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Teens ages 13 to 18 are invited to plan projects and programs for the teen space at the library. If interested, call Miss Kayla at 717-252-4080.

Stitch and Chat, a group of needleworkers, will meet on Thursdays, May 4 and 18, from 6 to 7:45 p.m. and on Tuesdays, May 2 and 16, from 1 to 2:45 p.m. in the conference room. Registration is not required.

The York Chess Club will gather from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, May 2, 9 and 16, in the Community Room. People of all ages and experience levels are welcome.

Reiki Meditation with Miranda will be offered on May 4 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Community Room.

Tween Programs for people ages 9 to 11 will be held on Tuesdays, May 9 and 16, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. The Danger Club will meet on May 9, and the Library Squad will meet on May 16 to shape library programs for tweens.

The Green Thumb Garden Club will meet on Thursday, May 11, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. The topic will be "Lovely Lemon Herbs" with Melanie Markowski.

Spoiler Alert, a virtual book review group for youths ages 12 to 18, will be held via Zoom from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 18. The group reads teen books and then posts reviews to Instagram and YouTube.

Builder's Club for children ages 6 to 12 will meet from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on May 18. A variety of building toys will be available to participants, and no registration is required.

Manga Book Club for teens ages 12 to 18 will meet on Saturday, May 20, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Teen Area. The program will occur after hours, so only teens attending the program will be allowed inside.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library Branch Support Group will gather at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, in the Community Room. Attendees will share fundraising ideas and ways to raise awareness of the library in the community.

The Cookbook Discussion Group will meet on Thursday, May 25, from 6 to 7:45 p.m. The theme will be "Tea Party." Attendees should bring a prepared dish (sweet or savory) and a copy of the recipe. All are welcome.
