Neffsville Veterinary Clinic (NVC) held a Kid's Day event on Sept. 27 as a fundraiser for the Manheim Township K9 Foundation. The clinic provides veterinary care for the K9 teams and has formed relationships with both the handlers and dogs. The staff at NVC saw the work and dedication to the job the teams exhibit and wanted to support it.

According to the Manheim Township Police Department, the Manheim Township K9 Foundation is a nonprofit foundation formed on Oct. 12, 2023, with the purpose of providing for the needs and care of the K9s, as well as the maintenance and operational costs of the K9 Unit.

More than 20 children participated in the event, visiting various stations, including veterinary medicine career exploration and surgical activities. They performed an exam and case study and learned about safe pet interactions.

In previous years, the clinic has held Kid's Day events, but community events have slowed since the pandemic. One of the current goals of the clinic is to promote community outreach and education through events such as this.
