Kindergartners To Hold Parade

The kindergarten students at Canadochly Elementary School, 100 Abels Road, Wrightsville, will hold a parade on Friday, Nov. 18, to showcase what they have been learning. The parade will be held in the school building at 9:45 a.m., and its format will be a tribute to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Although the event is not open to the public, it will be livestreamed.

Students were given a science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) project to work on with their families. The project required the students to design a float, costume or parade entry based on an assigned letter. Added to the student entries are class book floats, animal floats, and many balloons.

This year, the students will also thank individuals whose work aids the school. Secretaries, custodians, assistants, food service workers, nurses, bus drivers, and school resource officers have been invited to participate.
