Kiwanis Club Posts Year in Review

Members of the Kiwanis Club of the Lititz Area recently shared a recap of their activities in 2025.

The ultimate giving event for the local chapter was held in March at the Lititz Public Library. More than 20 representatives from local organizations came together to accept donation checks to support activities and share information about the mission, vision and ongoing work of their respective organizations. The Lieutenant Governor for Division 16 of Kiwanis of Pennsylvania was in attendance and was impressed by the work of the Kiwanis Club of the Lititz Area and the number and range of organizations that the local club supports. Monetary donations at the event totaled $100,000.

The following fundraising events were held throughout the year: Pretzel Fest, during which 750 fans took to the streets of Lititz to sample 27 sweet-and-salty treats; Kids Day in the Park, where kids were treated to a wide variety of games and tennis-inspired activities, face painting, balloon art and fortifying snacks; a Book Give-away at Lititz National Night Out, where more than 64 crates of books were distributed to young readers throughout the evening; and the Chocolate Walk, where attendees enjoyed the chocolate panini and other treats.

Proceeds from all Kiwanis of the Lititz Area events benefit charities dedicated to helping children. In addition, club members read with children in elementary school programs; take part in activities with the Aktion Club, a community service club for adults who live with a developmental disability; and go Christmas caroling at local retirement and skilled care homes.

The Kiwanis Club of the Lititz Area, founded on Sept. 14, 1994, is part of Kiwanis International, a worldwide service organization that is devoted to serving the children of the world, one child and one community at a time.
