Kreutz Creek Library Plans Activities

Kreutz Creek Library, 66 Walnut Springs Road, York, will offer a variety of activities. Details and registration are available at http://www.yorklibraries.org. Information is also available by calling the library at 717-252-4080.

The library continues to offer lobby pickup only. Items may be picked up on Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m.

The library Friends have planned two fundraisers. When community members dine in or order takeout Hoss's Steak and Sea House, 3604 E. Market St., York, on Wednesday, Oct. 6, and present their fundraising coupon, a percentage of their order will be donated to Kreutz Creek Library. Fundraising coupons may be picked up at the library until Oct. 6.

In the Boscov's Friends Helping Friends fundraiser, those who donate a set amount to the library will receive a 25% off Boscov's coupon that may be used on Wednesday, Oct. 20. More information is forthcoming.

Miss Felicia's Story Time at Flinchbaugh's Orchard & Farm Market will be offered on Tuesdays through Oct. 26 from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Story times will be held under the Orchard Pavilion, rain or shine, and attendees should park in the grass lot marked "Overflow Event Parking." Face coverings and social distancing recommended for people age 2 and up.

October's Monthly Grab & Go Activities for children ages 3 to 8 were inspired by the picture book "The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin" by Joe Troiano. Community members may stop by the library on or after Friday, Oct. 1, to pick up the supplies.

The following tween programs will be offered virtually to youths ages 9 to 12: the Danger Club on Tuesday, Oct. 12, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. and the Library Squad on Oct. 26 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Registration is required.

People ages 13 to 18 who are interested in taking part in project-based volunteering may email kreutzcreeklibrary@yorklibraries.org or call Jennifer at the library.

TechTime will be offered by phone on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. To receive assistance learning to use a new device, fixing problems, protecting a device, downloading books and more, call 717-846-5300 and ask for the tech specialist.

Mystery at the Library/Virtual Author Event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. Attendees will visit with author Katie Lattar. Reservations are required.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library Branch Support Group will meet on Oct. 26 at 5:30 p.m. in the upper pavilion in Emig Park.
