L-S Football All-Stars Announced

The Lampeter-Strasburg (L-S) football team advanced to the District Three 4A final, so it comes as no surprise that the team was well represented in the Lancaster-Lebanon League All-Star selections announced at the annual league banquet on Nov. 30 in Mount Gretna.

First-year head coach Victor Ridenour led that group, sharing Coach of the Year honors with Garden Spot's Matt Zamperini.

Berkeley Wagner followed, sharing Outstanding Back of the Year recognition with Ephrata's Andre Weidman. He was also a unanimous choice for Section Three First Team honors at quarterback.

Nick DelGrande was named Outstanding Lineman of the Year (TE and LB), as well as First Team OT and ILB. Other First Team All-Stars were Beau Heyser, TE, OLB, LS; Trey Spahr, C; Evan Sellers, OG, DT; and Luke Hines, DE.

Second Team All-Stars were Giovanni Malatesta, RB, DB; Landon Coronado, DT; Weston Weaver, DB; Jonathan Mellinger, RB; Jeremy Reed, OT; Andrew Reidenbaugh, PK; Payton Cunningham, KR; Jackson Heeter, OLB; and Brayden Smith, P.

Academic All-Stars were also honored. First Team honorees (3.75 to 4.0 GPA) were Braden Bauer, Ezechiel Lukusa, and Ian Bender. On the Second Team (3.5 to 3.74 GPA) were Beau Heyser, Andrew Reidenbaugh, Weston Weaver, Berkeley Wagner, and Landon Coronado, and honorable mention honors (3.25 to 3.49 GPA) went to Hunter Hildenbrand, Jeremy Reed, and Tre Spahr.
