Lancaster COB sets flashlight Easter egg hunt

Children and families are invited to the Lancaster Church of the Brethren (COB) on Palm Sunday, April 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for an indoor Easter egg hunt by flashlight. The church is located at 1601 Sunset Ave., Lancaster.

The festivities will begin in the church's Worship and Event Center, where children will make story stones to share the story of Easter. Kids and families will be invited to draw a simple symbol on small stones depicting the events of Holy Week. Each child will receive a fabric bag to personalize and use to hold the stones, along with a handout showing the symbols and corresponding Scripture verses to retell the story.

As the sun sets, children will move to the sanctuary to hunt for candy-filled plastic Easter eggs by flashlight. The egg hunt is for children age 3 through fifth grade and will begin with the youngest participants. Participants are asked to bring a flashlight and Easter basket or bag for each child.

Each child also will receive a ticket for a chance to win one of five Easter baskets filled with prizes.
