Lancaster Heart Walk Posted

The American Heart Association will hold the Lancaster Heart Walk on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Barnstormers' stadium, 650 N. Prince St., Lancaster. The event seeks to boost physical and mental health through healthy habits while supporting the American Heart Association's lifesaving mission.

Participants and teams are invited to celebrate heart and stroke survivors, raise lifesaving funds and encourage physical activity. Registration and the festivities will begin at 10 a.m., and the opening ceremony will commence at 11 a.m. hosted by WGAL's Lori Burkholder. The opening ceremonies will also feature a demonstration of Hands-Only CPR and the story of WGAL senior producer Ronda Keiser, who had a sudden cardiac arrest while at work in the newsroom. News director Eric Nazarenus performed CPR until emergency personnel arrived. In February 2020, Nazarenus was presented with the American Heart Association's Heartsaver Hero Award for his efforts.

The walk will kick off at 11:15 a.m. led by event co-chairs Dr. Ross Biggs and Dr. Zachary Huston of the Heart Group at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health.
