Lancaster Modern Etiquette, an etiquette and social skills institute, has scheduled a series of classes designed to empower individuals with essential life skills. Founded in 2020, Lancaster Modern Etiquette is committed to teaching proper etiquette, good manners and kindness, helping both children and adults succeed in social and professional environments.

"Poised and Pretty - Social Skills for Girls" will be offered for girls ages 7 to 12. The class will be offered in three two-hour sessions on Saturdays, Oct. 14, 21 and 28, at 10 a.m. at Inspire Business Center, 226 N. Arch St., Lancaster.

"Poised and Pretty Teen - Social Skills for Teen Girls Ages 13 and Up" will be offered in three two-hour sessions on Oct. 14, 21 and 28 at 1 p.m. at Inspire Business Center.

A "Dine With Style Etiquette Luncheon for Children and Teens" will take place on Saturday, Nov. 18, at noon at the Lititz Springs Inn, 14 E. Main St., Lititz.

A fee will be charged for all three programs, with a sibling discount available.

Annie Ahm Hartley, the founder of Lancaster Modern Etiquette, was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and has lived and traveled extensively abroad. She observed that across various cultures, one universal element prevailed - kindness. This insight led her to realize that regardless of language or location, individuals with good manners, an open mind, kindness and courtesy have a greater chance of success.

Hartley is a certified etiquette expert with credentials from two nationally acclaimed etiquette schools. She holds business and children's etiquette certifications from The Etiquette Institute in St. Louis, Mo., and a children's etiquette certification from The Charleston School of Protocol and Etiquette in Charleston, S.C.
