Lancaster Unity Cup soccer tournament set

The Lancaster Recreation Commission will host the second annual Lancaster Unity Cup beginning Saturday, July 27. The series will take place at Community Park in Lancaster Township, and the championship game will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The World Cup-style adult men's soccer tournament will feature teams representing different countries of immigrant and refugee residents in Lancaster. The winning team will receive a cash prize.

There is a registration fee per team, which includes tournament jerseys. Teams may consist of up to 14 players.

Nearly a dozen teams have already registered for the Lancaster Unity Cup.

The Lancaster Recreation Commission's mission is to provide quality and affordable recreation and learning opportunities to Lancaster residents. Operating since 1909, the commission has provided neighborhood-based recreation and learning opportunities for people of all ages with an emphasis on affordable programs for children at schools, parks, and playgrounds.
