Leah Laubach of Marietta was recently named as the Defensive Player of the Week by the United East Conference. Laubach plays for the women's basketball team at Wilson College.

Laubach shined both offensively and defensively as she pulled down 13 rebounds to go with 17 points for a double-double in the team's season opening win against Mary Baldwin. She also blocked three shots and pilfered three steals as the Phoenix went on to defeat the Fighting Squirrels 86-61.
