Lauver to speak at Vietnam Round Table meeting

The Central Pennsylvania Vietnam Round Table will meet on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Vietnam Veterans of America, Michael J. Novosel MOH Capital Chapter 542, 8000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Following a brief business meeting, Robert "Bob" Lauver from Selinsgrove will discuss his service with the Marines in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968.

Lauver enlisted after graduating from Rothrock High School in Bloomsburg. He served with a quad-50 unit, G Battery, 1st Battalion, 65th Artillery, and also with the 44th Artillery near the demilitarized zone. He received various awards, including a Silver Star.

Following his military service, Lauver completed college and worked as a department head at a local hospital. He was then an entrepreneur until he retired. Lauver enjoys working with veterans' organizations. He has been married to his wife for 45 years, and they have two children.
